Lester "Ska" Sterling OD (31 January 1936 – 16 May 2023), also known as Mr. Versatile, was a Jamaican trumpet and saxophone player.

The Skatalites’ co-founder Lester Sterling has died. A true pioneer in Jamaican music, Lester Sterling was drawn to the saxophone during his time at the legendary Alpha Boys School – essentially a breeding ground for the first wave of what would become known as ska music.

Jamaican Alto Saxophone and trumpet player, writer and arranger, born 31 January 1936, died 16 May 2023. Lester G. Sterling started his music education in the 40's at The Alpha Boys School and was the last founding member of The Skatalites, until he retired from the group in 2014. Half brother of Keith Sterling.
