Irving Milfred Mole (March 11, 1898 – April 29, 1961) known professionally as Miff Mole, was an American jazz trombonist and band leader. He is generally considered one of the greatest jazz trombonists and credited with creating "the first distinctive and influential solo jazz trombone style."

Miff Mole was a Roosevelt, New York native. He was a child who studied piano and violin, and then switched to trombone at age 15.

25 feb 2023 · Miff Mole - The Syncopated Times. Andy Senior. February 25, 2023. Jazz Birthday. Miff Mole was born Irving Milfred Mole in what is now Roosevelt, Long Island, on March 11, 1898. Miff studied violin and piano before switching to trombone as his primary instrument at age 15.
