Karl Eberhard Herwarth von Bittenfeld (4 September 1796 – 2 September 1884) was a Prussian Generalfeldmarschall. He served in many military conflicts throughout the 19th century and was given major commands throughout each conflict.

Karl Eberhard Herwarth von Bittenfeld war ein preußischer Generalfeldmarschall.
During the Danish War of 1864 he succeeded to the command of the Prussians when Prince Friedrich Karl became commander-in-chief of the Allies. In the war of 1866 he commanded the Army of the Elbe which overran Saxony and invaded Bohemia.
Herwarth von Bittenfeld, Karl Eberhard geb. 04.09.1796 Groß Werther/Kreis Nordhausen, gest. 02.09.1884 Bonn, (preußischer) Generalfeldmarschall. Der Generalssohn nahm als preußischer Secondelieutenant an den Befreiungskriegen und als Oberst und Regimentskommandeur an den Barrikadenkämpfen im März 1848 in Berlin teil.
Colonel Carl von Pöckh was sent to drive the Prussians back, and with a fierce infantry charge managed to force the 7th Division back to the outskirts of the forest. Flanking fire raked Pöckh's battalion, annihilating it as a fighting force and killing its commander.
