Ferenc Gyulay Maros Németh und Nádaska ( Tornanádaska, 11 agosto 1674 – Mantova, 18 ottobre 1728) è stato un generale austriaco di origini ungheresi. Fu padre del generale Sámuel Gyulay, nonno dei feldmarescialli Ignác e Albert Gyulay nonché bisnonno del feldmaresciallo e governatore del regno Lombardo-Veneto, Ferenc Gyulay .
16 nov 2011 · Il 4 giugno 1859 si scontrarono l’esercito austriaco comandato dal Conte Ferencz Gyulai e quello franco-piemontese guidato dall’Imperatore dei Francesi Napoleone III e da Vittorio Emanuele II Re di Sardegna. Gli Austriaci furono sconfitti e l’8 giugno Milano accoglieva festante i vincitori.
Dal 1857 governatore della Lombardia e comandante delle truppe austriache in Italia, scoppiata la guerra del 1859, rimase indeciso e inoperoso dando modo ai Franco-Piemontesi di compiere indisturbati il loro congiungimento. Battuto a Magenta e, in retroguardia, a Melegnano, fu esonerato dal comando. Generale austriaco (Pest 1798 - Vienna 1868).
Biography Gyulai was born in Hungary; in 1849 named Austrian Minister of Defence by Emperor Franz Joseph, but served only for one year; in 1857, named Governor of Lombardy-Venetia; involved in the Second Italian War of Independence.
