Chakravarti Rajagopalachari BR (10 December 1878 – 25 December 1972), popularly known as Rajaji or C.R., also known as Mootharignar Rajaji (Rajaji, the Scholar Emeritus), was an Indian statesman, writer, lawyer, and Indian independence activist.
Chakravarthi Rajagopalachari (Hosur, 10 dicembre 1878 – Madras, 25 dicembre 1972) è stato un politico indiano. Fu governatore di Madras dal 1937 al 1939 e del Bengala Occidentale dal 1947 al 1948 e quindi governatore generale dell'India dal 1948 al 1950 .
Rajagopalachari served as the Minister for Industry, Supply, Education and Finance in the Interim Government headed by Jawaharlal Nehru from 1946-47. After India gained independence, he was appointed as the first Governor of West Bengal.
