Claude Bowes-Lyon, XIII conte di Strathmore e Kinghorne (Redbourn, 21 luglio 1824 – Bordighera, 16 febbraio 1904) è stato un nobile britannico. Ascendentamente parlando, egli fu il bis-nonno della Regina Elisabetta II.
Nel 1896 la villa fu acquistata da Lord Claude Bowes-Lyon, XIV conte di Strathmore e Kinghorne che le cambio nome chiamandola villa Etelinda. Lord Claude Bowes-Lyon era il padre di Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, a sua volta madre della regina Elisabetta II d'Inghilterra.
La contea venne accettata a partire dal 1937 anche nella Parìa inglese, quando la figlia di Claude Bowes-Lyon, XIV Conte di Strathmore e Kinghorne e di Cecilia Cavendish-Bentinck, Elizabeth, dopo aver sposato il duca di York Alberto d'Inghilterra, divenne regina consorte.
