John Turner (12 August 1947 – 1 May 2002), known professionally as John Nathan-Turner, was an English television producer. He was the ninth producer of the long-running BBC science fiction series Doctor Who and the final producer of the series' first run on television (from 1980 until it was cancelled in 1989).
John Nathan-Turner (1947-2002) was a British TV producer, best known for his work on Doctor Who (1963) from 1979 to 1989. He also produced some special releases, wrote a book and appeared in various shows and documentaries.

John Nathan-Turner, who has died after a short illness aged 54, was the last and longest-serving producer of Doctor Who, the most successful and enduring British science-fiction series ever.
John Nathan-Turner (12 August 1947-1 May 2002) was first a member of the production team and then the ninth, longest serving and final producer for the original run of Doctor Who. He is often known simply by his initials, JNT.

Producer: Doctor Who. John Nathan-Turner was born and brought up in the Midlands. As a boy he acted in numerous school plays and revues and appeared as an extra in several TV series, including The Newcomers (1965) and United! (1965) for the BBC and Crossroads (1964) for ATV.
