Harold Eugene "Hal" Roach Sr. (January 14, 1892 – November 2, 1992) was an American film and television producer, director, screenwriter, and centenarian, who was the founder of the namesake Hal Roach Studios. Roach was active in the industry from the 1910s to the 1990s.
Hal Roach (1892-1992) was a pioneer of short film comedies, creating and distributing many classic series such as Harold Lloyd, Laurel and Hardy, and Our Gang. He also produced some features, such as Topper and One Million B.C., and had a controversial alliance with Mussolini's Italy.
