Gedhun Choekyi Nyima is the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibetan Buddhism as recognized by the Dalai Lama on 14 May 1995. A few days after being recognized by the Dalai Lama, the Panchen Lama was forcibly disappeared by the Chinese government, and he has not been seen in public since then.
