Johann Elert Bode (Amburgo, 19 gennaio 1747 – Berlino, 23 novembre 1826) è stato un astronomo tedesco, noto soprattutto per la sua riformulazione e divulgazione della legge di Titius-Bode e come contributo nella determinazione dell'orbita di Urano, per il quale suggerì anche il nome.

Propose il nome Urano che fu subito adottato da tutto il mondo, raccolse per il suo annuario tutte le osservazioni del pianeta e notò che era già stato osservato varie volte, senza saperlo, p.es. da Tobias Mayer nel 1756 e da Flamsteed nel 1690 che lo aveva identificato come la stella 34-Tauri.
