The Witcher is a fantasy drama television series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix. It is based on the book series [a] by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. Set on a fictional, medieval -inspired landmass known as the Continent, The Witcher explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer of Vengerberg and Princess Ciri.

Nel 2002 viene trasmessa sul canale polacco Telewizja Polska una serie televisiva ideata da Michał Szczerbic, dal titolo Wiedźmin. La prima e unica stagione è basata sui primi due libri della saga di Sapkowski ( La spada del destino e Il guardiano degli innocenti ).
The Hexer (Polish: Wiedźmin) is the international title of both a movie (2001) and a television series (2002) based on the witcher short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, although it is more commonly referred to as The Witcher by fans since the release of The Witcher.
