Martinus Christian Wesseltoft Rørbye (Danish: [mɑːˈtsʰiːnus ˈʁɶɐ̯ˌpyˀ]; 17 May 1803 – 29 August 1848) was a Danish painter, known both for genre works and landscapes. He was a central figure of the Golden Age of Danish painting during the first half of the 19th century.
Martinus Christian Wesseltoft Rørbye (født 17. maj 1803 Drammen i Norge, død 29. august 1848 København) var en dansk guldalder kunstmaler, kendt for sine landskaber og arkitekturmalerier. Da Norge gik tabt for Danmark i 1814 , flyttede Rørbyes familie tilbage til Danmark.

29 nov 2018 · Martinus Rørbye. Rørbye begyndte på Kunstakademiet i 1819 som elev af C.A. Lorentzen, og han fik også privattimer hos C.W. Eckersberg. Rørbye blev i 1838 den første modtager af prisen Thorvaldsens Medalje. Fra 1844 var han professor ved Kunstakademiet.
