Benjamin Lauder Nicholson, OM (10 April 1894 – 6 February 1982) was an English painter of abstract compositions (sometimes in low relief), landscapes, and still-life. He was one of the leading promoters of abstract art in England.

Condividi. Ben Nicholson nasce a Denham nel Buckinghamshire, in Gran Bretagna, il 10 aprile 1894. Figlio di pittori, frequenta nel 1910-11 la Slade School of Fine Arts a Londra, e tra il 1911 e il 1914 visita la Francia, l’Italia e la Spagna. Nel 1917-18 si trasferisce per un breve periodo a Pasadena, in California.
