Louise Jane Jopling (née Goode, previously Romer and later Rowe) (Manchester 16 November 1843 – 19 November 1933) was an English painter of the Victorian era, and one of the most prominent female artists of her generation.
Biografia. Nacque con il nome di Louise Jane Goode. Scrittrice, pittrice, attrice, una delle più versatili artiste dell'epoca vittoriana [1] [2]. A diciassette anni si sposò con il funzionario Frank Romer. Dopo il 1860 studiò a Parigi con Charles Joshua Chaplin e Alfred Stevens.
Born in Manchester, Louise Jopling (1843-1933) studied art in Paris under the romantic portrait and landscape painter Charles Chaplin from 1867-68. She went on to develop a lengthy professional career as an artist, and painted portraits, figure compositions, interiors, landscape and genre scenes.

Louise Jopling was a committed campaigner for Votes for Women, and a long-term supporter of the National Union of Women’s Suffrage Societies. She was a signatory on the 1884 “Letter from Ladies to Members of Parliament” and the 1889 Declaration in Favour of Women’s Suffrage.
