Rich Buckler (1949-2017) was an American comics artist and penciller, best known for his work on Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four in the mid-1970s and for creating the character Deathlok in Astonishing Tales #25. Buckler drew virtually every major character at Marvel and DC, often as a cover artist.
Revered artist Rich Buckler, known for this work throughout the '70s and '80s at Marvel and DC Comics, died Friday at the age of 68 after a long-fought battle with cancer. The news was confirmed by friends and family, in addition to his former collaborator and editor at Marvel, Roy Thomas.
