1 feb 2022 · Polly Samson is the author of two collections of short stories and two novels, and has written lyrics for three number one albums - Pink Floyd's The Division Bell, David Gilmour's On An Island, and Pink Floyd's The Endless River.
Polly Samson (born 29 April 1962) is an English novelist, lyricist and journalist. She is married to musician and Pink Floyd's guitarist David Gilmour and has written the lyrics to many of Gilmour's songs, some of which appear on Pink Floyd's last two albums.
Polly Samson wrote the lyric to Louder Than Words on Pink Floyd's The Endless River which reached the top of the charts in 2014. Her latest novel is A Theatre for Dreamers , published in hardback by Bloomsbury.
A THEATRE FOR DREAMERS. Polly's bestselling novel, which was a 2020 book of the year in The Times and The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, the Daily Mail, and The Spectator, will be published in paperback today by Bloomsbury. It has already been heralded as one of the Best Paperbacks of 2021 by The Sunday Times.
