Although only in her 30's at the time of the Munich Agreement (29 September 1938), Doreen Warriner, an academic at the School between 1938 and 1966, interrupted her academic activities for what she felt was a worthwhile cause.
13 dic 2023 · Doreen Warriner was a development economics professor at the School between 1938 and 1966 and interrupted her academic activities to travel to Prague to help refugees escape from the Nazi-occupied city. Her voluntary work earned her an OBE.
14 giu 2024 · Doreen Warriner is herself thought to have saved 15,000 refugees from Nazi persecution in Germany between 1938-39, a feat for which she was awarded the OBE in 1941, and posthumously in 2018 the British Hero of the Holocaust Medal.
