Dorothea Friederike Schlegel, geboren als Brendel Mendelssohn (* 24. Oktober 1764 in Berlin; † 3. August 1839 in Frankfurt am Main), seit 1814 auch von Schlegel, war eine Literaturkritikerin und Schriftstellerin der Romantik, Lebensgefährtin und spätere Ehefrau von Friedrich Schlegel.
Scrittrice tedesca (Berlino 1763 - Francoforte sul Meno 1839); figlia di M. Mendelssohn, nel 1783 sposò il banchiere Simon Veit; ma lo lasciò nel 1798 per seguire F. von Schlegel, che sposò a Parigi nel 1804. Divenne essa stessa scrittrice, facendosi portavoce convinta ma non originale delle tesi romantiche relative all'arte e alla moralità.
