Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (ARA; French: [ovɛʁɲ ʁon alp] ⓘ) is a region in southeast-central France created by the 2014 territorial reform of French regions; it resulted from the merger of Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes. The new region came into effect on 1 January 2016, after the regional elections in December 2015.

Januar 2016 aus dem Zusammenschluss der bisherigen Regionen Auvergne und Rhône-Alpes entstanden ist. Der Name bildet sich aus der alphabetischen Reihenfolge der fusionierten Regionen und wurde zunächst als vorläufiger Name vergeben.

On 1 January 2016, the region was dissolved and its territory has been part of the new region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The administrative region of Auvergne is larger than the historical province of Auvergne, one of the seven counties of Occitania, and includes provinces and areas that historically were not part of Auvergne.
