Günzburg ist eine Große Kreisstadt im schwäbischen Landkreis Günzburg im Freistaat Bayern. Die Stadt ist Verwaltungssitz des gleichnamigen Landkreises sowie Gerichtssitz des Amtsgerichts Günzburg.
It is a Große Kreisstadt and the capital of the Swabian district Günzburg. This district was constituted in 1972 by combining the city of Günzburg – which had not previously been assigned to a Kreis (district) – with the district of Günzburg and the district of Krumbach.

Günzburg is a Landkreis in Swabia, Bavaria, Germany. Its capital is the town Günzburg. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Dillingen, Augsburg, Unterallgäu and Neu-Ulm, and by the state of Baden-Württemberg (districts Alb-Donau and Heidenheim).
Günzburg heeft een oppervlakte van 55,4 km² en ligt in het zuiden van Duitsland. Bij de stad mondt de meer dan 50 km lange rivier de Günz uit in de Donau. Günzburg moet niet worden verward met het zuidelijker gelegen Obergünzburg, dat juist aan de bovenloop van de Günz ligt.
