Figlio del compositore Catterino Cavos , disegnò gli interni del Teatro Mariinskij di San Pietroburgo (1859–1860) e del Teatro Bol'šoj di Mosca (1853–1856).

He was the son Alberto Giovanni Cavos, the Primo Ballerino Assuluto of the Fenice Theater and Camilla Baglioni, the Diva of the same opera house in Venice. He became a composer and conductor at the Imperial Theatre in Saint Petersburg .
Figlio dell’impresario e coreografo Alberto Cavos, e padre dell’omonimo architetto che avrebbe partecipato alla costruzione dei celebri teatri Mariinskij di San Pietroburgo e Bol’šoj di Mosca, Catterino era, alle soglie del XIX secolo, un giovane clavicembalista e compositore, che aveva appena concluso la propria formazione musicale con l’operista Francesco Bianchi.
