Operating from 1972 to 2007, the studio was founded and run by the Robb brothers: Bruce Robb, Dee Robb, and Joe Robb. Initially based in their home ranch in Chatsworth, in 1975 they acquired MGM Recording Studios at 751 North Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, and renamed them as Cherokee Studios.
