Laura Anne Taylor Swain [1] (born November 21, 1958) [2] is the chief United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York . Education and career. Born in Brooklyn, Swain earned an Artium Baccalaureus degree in 1979 from Radcliffe College.
April 28, 2018. Biography. Judge Laura Taylor Swain was born in 1958 in Brooklyn, New York to Madeline and Justus Taylor. She graduated from Hunter College High School in New York City in 1975; and earned her B.A. degree in government from Harvard-Radcliffe College in 1979, and her J.D. degree from Harvard Law School in 1982.
