Nigel Newton CBE (born 16 June 1955) is an American-born British publisher. He is the founder and chief executive (CEO) of Bloomsbury Publishing.
14 ago 2020 · Nigel Newton is the founder of Bloomsbury Publishing. He conceived the idea of Bloomsbury in February 1984 whilst on leave from Sidgwick & Jackson Publishers following the birth of his first daughter, Catherine.
The company was founded in 1986 by Nigel Newton, who had previously been employed by other publishing companies. It was floated as a public registered company in 1994, raising £5.5 million, which was used to fund expansion of the company into paperback and children's books.
