Peter Straughan (born 1968) is a British playwright, screenwriter and author, based in the north-east of England. He was writer-in-residence at Newcastle's Live Theatre Company. Whilst there, Live staged his plays, Bones and Noir. Both of these plays have displayed Straughan's talent for writing dark, twisted and witty stories.
Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light is an upcoming historical drama television series. It is a second adaptation by Peter Straughan of the Wolf Hall novels by Hilary Mantel, and covers the The Mirror and the Light, the final novel in the trilogy.
Biography. Playwright and screenwriter Peter Straughan was born in 1968 and grew up in Gateshead in the north-east of England. He worked as a professional musician and actor and studied English at Newcastle University. He won the 1997 Northern Arts Writer's Award and his play A Rhyme for Orange won the 1997 North East People's Play Award.
