In 1906, West Allis was chartered as a city with 2,400 acres of land and a population of 2,306. In 1905, a permanent water system was established for the city. In 1906, the Woman’s Club set up the first Public Library. A city-wide garbage collection was initiated in 1907. Classes for the teaching of English were set up in 1910.
