Anthony LaPaglia (/ l ə ˈ p ɑː l i ə /, Italian pronunciation: [laˈpaʎʎa]; born 31 January 1959) is an Australian actor. He has won three AACTA Awards, Best Actor in a Leading Role for Lantana (2001) and Balibo (2009), and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Nitram (2021).

Anthony LaPaglia (born 31 January 1959) is an Australian movie and television actor. He has received Golden Globe Awards and Emmy Awards for acting. He acted as "Jack Malone" in the series Without a Trace and as "Detective Lou" in the movie Summer of Sam. He was born in Adelaide, although he later moved to the United States.
Was allegedly the original choice to play Tony Soprano in the HBO series The Sopranos (1999) but turned the role down. Son of Maria Johannes (Brendel) (secretary) and Gedio "Eddie" LaPaglia (auto mechanic). His father was from Bovalino, Province of Reggio Calabria, Italy. His mother was Dutch.
