Achievements are rewarded to the player after completing challenges or reaching certain milestones in The Binding of Isaac. They are similar but not identical to Secrets. There are a total of 99 achievements in the game; 52 from the main game and a further 47 from the Wrath of the Lamb expansion (including the Eternal Edition).

Note that the game saves periodically over time, and also saves when you use the in-game command to exit. For your own sake, make sure to always use the in-game command to exit the game, as opposed to force-quitting, clicking the X, or so on. It may be advisable to exit after a winning run or other major unlock, even if you plan to continue playing, simply as a precaution.

•The game will count a single playthrough as two "completions" if the player somehow accesses Sheol (e.g. through a Devil Room in Womb 2 or by use of "We Need to Go Deeper") and successfully defeats Satan prior to the 10th completion of the game. Doing so will unlock as many as three endings per playthrough, and if done on the 9th playthrough can even unlock ? (and The Poop) without the player having ever defeated It Lives.

•For some users, achievements may never unlock at all. This can be fixed by closing The Binding Of Isaac, going to your Binding Of Isaac local files, deleting "FlashAchievements.exe", going to your Steam library, right clicking on The Binding Of Isaac, clicking on "Properties", going to the Local Files tab, and verifying the integrity of the game cache. Once Steam re-downloads the FlashAchievements.exe file, all of the missing achievements will be unlocked once you start up TBOI. This has to be re-done for any future locked achievements.

•Please note that several of the Wrath of the Lamb achievements are bugged and can be found even without having them unlocked:

•When you defeat the Headless Horseman, you may get the achievement for defeating C.H.A.D..

•The Sacrificial Knife may be unlocked if you use a Joker Card or the We Need to Go Deeper! item on a The Womb XL floor to go directly to Sheol and then beat Satan with Eve (as though you had beaten Isaac). (Needs confirmation if it works with other characters on a similar situation.)

•If you defeat a boss while you have no Heart Containers, it is treated as if you won as ?, even if you were someone else. This applies only to Secrets; achievements are still unlocked normally, excluding any other bugs. (For example, beating The Chest as Eve - a message appears indicating the "?'s Soul" Secret is unlocked, but the unlocked achievement is "Judas' Tongue").

  2. 12 apr 2021 · The achievement descriptions of The Binding of Isaac are sometimes incredibly vague so I made an in-depth method for unlocking every single item, character, trinket, floor, etc in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Afterbirth, and Afterbirth+.

  3. There are five of these achievements included in Rebirth, with 4 new achievements with similar objectives added in Afterbirth † with Booster Pack 5. The achievements are as follows: Objective

  4. 15 dic 2012 · The answer is NO!!! Progression Achievements. As I'm sure you're all aware, you can either have The Binding of Isaac (That's to say, the Base Game) or you could have bought the DLC and have the Wrath of the Lamb. Achievements added with that paid DLC are listed further down the page.
