If you are planning a visit, we do just suggest you call ahead to the Development Office (01865 279509) to check the College is not going to be closed for any reason. On arrival please make yourself known to the Porters at the New College Lane entrance (March to October, 11am to 5pm) or at the Holywell Street Lodge at other times.

During the summer season (from mid-March to mid-October) entry is via New College Lane gate and during the winter season entry is via the Holywell Street entrance. Like other colleges at Oxford, New College is occasionally closed to the public for university events.
New College also supports a local Primary School in Oxford and engages with external organisations such as The Brilliant Club, NACE and Thinking Black. In recent years New College, along with two others, has also taken on responsibility for outreach provision in Wales, working with the Seren Network and hosting an annual summer school for Welsh state-school students.
New College | Access Guide. One of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford. The main entrance is on Holywell Street and is step free. There is an alternative entrance on New College Lane that is also step free. New College has a large site with five quads and gardens - there is step free access around most of the site.
