Marion Robert Morrison (May 26, 1907 – June 11, 1979), professionally known as John Wayne and nicknamed "the Duke", was an American actor who became a popular icon through his starring roles in films which were produced during Hollywood's Golden Age, especially in Western and war movies.

- Biografia di John Wayne. John Wayne, pseudonimo di Marion Robert Morrison, nasce il 26 maggio 1907 a Winterset, nello stato dell’Iowa. Wayne era figlio di Clyde Leonard Morrison e di Mary Alberta Brown, il nonno paterno aveva partecipato alla Guerra Civile, mentre un trisavolo era originario dell’Irlanda del Nord, emigrato negli Stati Uniti nel 1801.
