  2. McGill University (French: Université McGill) is an English-language public research university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1821 by royal charter, the university bears the name of James McGill, a Scottish merchant, whose bequest in 1813 established the University of McGill College.

    Fondata nel 1821 da James McGill, un mercante di Montréal, oggi l'Università McGill è considerata una delle maggiori del Canada e dell'intera zona nordamericana. Nel 2013 fu presentato il BigBRAINun atlante anatomico in 3D, progetto in cui l'università partecipò alla sua realizzazione insieme ad un ateneo tedesco.
