Jenin (⫽ ʒ ə ˈ n iː n ⫽; Arabic: جنين, Ǧinīn, pronunciation ⓘ) is a city in the State of Palestine, in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The city serves as the administrative center of the Jenin Governorate of Palestine and is a major center for the surrounding towns.

Jenin is located in the north of the West Bank. It is 75 km from Jerusalem. According to 2007 statistics, the city is inhabited by 39,000 people, while the city with surrounding villages totals approximately 256,000 people.
Jenin is a 4000-year-old city in northern Palestine, it is located on the edge of a level plain known to the locals as Marj Ibn Amer and mentioned in the Bible as Jezreel Valley. Modern Jenin is a picturesque town surrounded by olive and almond groves.
