Willington is a town and civil parish in the South Derbyshire district of Derbyshire, England. The 2001 Census recorded a parish population of 2,604, increasing to 2,864 at the 2011 Census.

PROFILE. Situated midway between Derby and Burton, close to the A38 and new A50. It is hardly surprising that Willington is normally busy with traffic. It has been the hub for transport for many years and has an absorbing history. Evidence has been found of habitation in the area long before the Transport Revolution.
Willington. Thriving village on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Willington is situated to the north of Repton between the River Trent and the Trent and Mersey Canal, with its own village green, and boasting plenty of great places for eating out. The bridge over the river was built in 1836 and was one of the last main road toll bridges in England.
