Bizunesh Deba (born 8 September 1987), also known as Buzunesh Deba, is a Bronx-based Ethiopian long-distance runner. She won the 2014 Boston Marathon in her personal-best time of 2:19:59. In the race, Deba finished behind Rita Jeptoo, who was later disqualified for doping.
Buzunesh Deba Ethiopia Originally from Asella, Ethiopia, Buzunesh Deba has lived and trained in New York City for a decade, frequently taking the subway from her home in the Bronx to track workouts, and has sometimes run the 31-mile circumference of Manhattan in training.
