The Poughkeepsie Tapes è un film del 2007, diretto da John Erick Dowdle. Affascinante “mockumentary” realizzato a basso costo ma con buone idee e notevole tecnica da John Erick Dowdle ( Quarantine, 2008, e Devil, 2010), con più di un punto comune con l’eccellente Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, 1986 di John McNaughton.
Quando centinaia di videocassette che mostrano torture, omicidi e smembramenti vengono trovati in una casa abbandonata, rivelano un serial killer decennale di terrore e diventano la raccolta più inquietante di prove che gli investigatori dell'omicidio abbiano mai visto.
