Launched in 1998, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is one of the Southeast Asia’s major aviation hubs. Located at the top of the southern corridor of Peninsular Malaysia, bordering the states of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, the airport is approximately 45 km from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
KLIA is located some 50 km (30 mi) south of the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur in the Sepang district of Selangor. The airport opened in 1998 and superseded Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, which is now only used for turboprop and charter flights.
