Der Landkreis Ludwigslust-Parchim ist ein Landkreis im Südwesten Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns. Mit 4752 km² Fläche [2] ist der Kreis nach dem gleichzeitig gebildeten Landkreis Mecklenburgische Seenplatte der zweitgrößte Landkreis Deutschlands. Außerdem weist er die geringste Bevölkerungsdichte der Landkreise in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern auf.
Parchim (German: [ˈpaʁçɪm] ⓘ; Mecklenburgisch-Vorpommersch: Parchen) is a town in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is the capital of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. It was the birthplace of Helmuth von Moltke the Elder, to whom a monument was erected in 1876.
