The House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, better known as the House of Glücksburg, is a collateral branch of the German House of Oldenburg. Its members have reigned at various times in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Greece, and several northern German states.

Being an important work of Renaissance architecture, Schloss Glücksburg, which is located south of the Flensburg Fjord, is one of the major cultural attractions in Schleswig-Holstein, and it is considered the cradle of European royal houses.
Schloss Glücksburg was built between 1583 and 1587 by Johann the Younger, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein. It is one of the most significant family seats in Northern Europe. Today it is owned by the Schloss Glücksburg Foundation, a family-owned foundation whose aim it is to preserve this unique cultural heritage and to present it to the public.
The town was originally the home of the family Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (or simply Glücksburg), members of which have reigned in the past in Greece and several northern German states. Members of the family still reign in Denmark and Norway since 1863 and 1905 respectively. Glücksburg was home to a German Navy base.
