Adrian Willaert è stato un compositore fiammingo, fondatore della scuola veneziana. Fu uno dei più rappresentativi compositori del nord Europa a spostarsi in Italia e a importare lo stile polifonico della scuola franco fiamminga.
Adrian Willaert (c. 1490 – 7 December 1562) was a Flemish composer of High Renaissance music. Mainly active in Italy, he was the founder of the Venetian School . [1] He was one of the most representative members of the generation of northern composers who moved to Italy and transplanted the polyphonic Franco-Flemish style there.

Musicista fiammingo (Bruges o Roeselare 1490 circa - Venezia 1562). Studiò a Parigi con J. Mouton; visse quasi sempre in Italia (dove giunse, sembra, verso il 1518), specialmente a Venezia, ove dal 1527 fino quasi alla morte fu maestro di cappella a S. Marco.
