Ex stati del Sacro Romano Impero. Contea di Stolberg – creato dalla Contea di Hohnstein nel 1210 e diviso nelle linee dello Harz (S-Stolberg) e renana (S-Rochefort e S-Königstein) nel 1548. Stolberg-Gedern – distaccato dallo S-Wernigerode nel 1677 e successivamente riunito ad esso nel 1804.
