Lo screamo (anche skramz) è un sottogenere del punk evolutosi in prevalenza a partire dall'hardcore punk nei primi anni novanta. Inizialmente il termine fu applicato ad un genere derivato dell'emo sviluppatosi a San Diego nel 1991, caratterizzato da tracce brevi, caotiche e dissonanti.
Sass (also known as white belt hardcore, sassy screamo or dancey screamo) is a style that emerged from the late-1990s and early-2000s screamo scene. The genre incorporates elements of post-punk, new wave, disco, electronic, dance-punk, grindcore, noise rock, metalcore, mathcore and beatdown hardcore.

Screamo is a genre that is derived from hardcore, specifically the emo nature that some hardcore bands began to exhibit in the 1990s. Though initial bands began appearing around this time, it wasn’t until the late ‘90s/ early 2000s that many had entered mainstream consciousness.

Il crunkcore, noto anche come crunk punk, scrunk o screamo crunk, è un genere musicale che fonde elementi culturali e musicali dei generi screamo e crunk. Musicalmente il crunkcore consiste in voce urlata tipica dello screamo con una base pop rap, dance e testi sessualmente provocatori.
