Kenneth Bancroft Clark (July 24, 1914 – May 1, 2005) and Mamie Phipps Clark (April 18, 1917 – August 11, 1983) were American psychologists who as a married team conducted research among children and were active in the Civil Rights Movement.

This work was later developed into the famous doll experiments that exposed internalized racism and the negative effects of segregation for African-American children (Butler, 2009). The Clarks were the first African-Americans to obtain their doctoral degrees in psychology from Columbia University.
