- About Us
Oakham School is a public school (English fee-charging boarding and day school) in Oakham, Rutland, England. The school was founded in 1584 by Archdeacon Robert Johnson, along with Uppingham School, a few miles away.
We run two Open Events each year, to give families an opportunity to experience Oakham School. These fun and friendly events allow visitors to tour our fantastic facilities, meet teaching and support staff and hear from current pupils about School life.
Upper School (Sixth Form) students choose one of two academic pathways; they study stand-alone qualifications from a choice of A-levels and BTECs, or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Download our Upper School Choices Booklet. US Subject Choices Grids.
Our fees include: All tuition, textbooks and the majority of options in the activities programme. Breakfast, lunch, and supper for all students (day pupils: from Monday morning – Saturday lunchtime; boarders: all meals during term time). Access in termtime to the Medical and Pastoral Centre, Sports Centre, and library.
