  3. 5 giorni fa · Sojourner Truth: "Ain't I A Woman" About the author: Isabella Baumfree (c.1797-1883) gave herself the name "Sojourner Truth" in 1843 and was an abolitionist and activist for women's rights. Truth endured the hardships of slavery, and when New York, her home state, abolished slavery in 1827, she had to escape with one of her daughters because her owner refused to free her.

Access to the Plaza and adjoining indoor space: The outdoor plaza is open to the public. Community members, students and visitors are free to come and go as they please during plaza hours.
