USS Constitution, also known as Old Ironsides, is a three-masted wooden-hulled heavy frigate of the United States Navy. She is the world's oldest commissioned naval warship still afloat. She was launched in 1797, one of six original frigates authorized for construction by the Naval Act of 1794 and the third constructed.

Wilber also commissioned Gordon Grant (1875-1962), an American marine artist, to depict “Old Ironsides” in its glory. The original oil painting was the prototype for more than 1 million lithographic prints produced in the 1920s and sold to raise money for the work on Constitution that took place from 1927 to 1931.
