St John's College is a private Anglican day and boarding school situated in Houghton Estate in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was founded in 1898 and comprises five schools: College, Preparatory, Pre-Preparatory and The Bridge Nursery, as well as a co-educational sixth form .
On September 12, St. John’s announced a new philanthropy-centered financial model and tuition for undergraduate students was reduced from more than $52,000 to $35,000 beginning with the 2019–20 academic year. St. John’s launched a $300-million capital campaign, Freeing Minds, and was described as “The Most Contrarian College in America” by the New York Times columnist Frank Bruni.
At St. John’s College, we promote learners’ sense of belonging and encourage everyone to take an active part in college life and to engage with opportunities in the community. The college has strong links with many organisations across Brighton and Hove, giving access to exciting employability placements and learning activities, in areas such as catering, horticulture, music and leisure.
