The guitarist would go on to have the unique distinction of Miles naming another track after him, “Go Ahead John” on his 1974 album, Big Fun .

John McLaughlin è nato nel gennaio 1942 a Doncaster, nel Regno Unito. Sua madre era una violinista da concerto e fin da giovanissimo visse circondato dalla musica, studiando violino e pianoforte. Ma all'età di undici anni s’interessò alla chitarra e da allora fece suo questo strumento, con il quale è diventato quasi una cosa sola.
