I am not sure if the third candle is a 100% chance of hunt or 50% chance. All I know is that It may hunt at any% sanity. The ability is always active, the flame counter always counts. The chance to attempt a hunt is 100 % after blowing out the 3rd and final flame after any counter-reset. Simply: Blow, blow, blow + attempt hunt. Reset count. Repeat.
It was supposed to be used as a crib but they dropped that idea before the game was released, so now it just sits there and gives you money, i think. Personally i think it's an eyesore, i started a new game just so i could blow it up. Extra money is always good, but if thats it maybe I'll stick to playing with the save I blew it up with.

Third Blow was awesome! It seems like each book in this series just gets better and better and more addicting, to the point that I can’t wait until I read the next book. So it’s going to be a big HECK YEAH I most definitely do recommend this book but if you haven’t read the first two books then I highly suggest that you do that way you get to know the main characters better.
