Love Letter (1995) is so overlooked it hurts. I found Shunji Iwai with Hana & Alice, a wonderful film about teenage friendship, and loved his style. I proceeded to watch All About Lily Chou-Chou and Swallowtail Butterfly and felt thoroughly refreshed by the style Iwai uses to explore his themes, mainly revolving around adolescence.
