Biographie. Tatsuya Nakadai en 1960. Repéré par le réalisateur Masaki Kobayashi qui lui offre son premier rôle, il tourne ensuite avec Akira Kurosawa, parfois aux côtés de Toshirō Mifune dont il devient en quelque sorte le rival comme « acteur-samouraï » dans les années 1960, et plus encore après la rupture entre Mifune et Kurosawa.
